I don't mind spoiling how things play out differently after the fact, since mostly it's a confirmation of the obvious and only rarely is it a case of a genuine surprise.<br /><br />There were other examples that I could have used as well; that's just the one which has the most layers across several games with nothing 'bad' happening irrevocably in-between which sets things basically back to square one (as happens most notably with the Quarians and the Geth in <i>ME3</i>, and you can call them out on it multiple times).
